BRAA Spring Program: “Art in the Gardens of New Zealand” Sunday, May 13th 2 pm at the Blacksburg Public Library. A Mothers Day treat for mothers and others.

Diane Relf, Professor Emeritus Department of Horticulture VT, retired in 2003 after working in the area of human issues in horticulture including pioneering work in horticultural therapy and the psychosocial benefits of gardening. Since retirement Diane has become increasing involved in both promoting and making art. She is past president of the Eastmont Art Association in Shawsville and is affiliated with the Fusion Art Gallery in Lumsden, New Zealand, where she and her husband spend three months each winter and are renovating an early 1920 settler’s cottage.

Diane’s presentation is a synthesis of her enthusiasm for gardens and art and features slides she has taken in private and public gardens throughout New Zealand.
