Nadine Allen Gallery:

Nadine Allen was instrumental in the creation of the New River Art Juried Biennial and an incredibly productive artist. She was a member of BRAA and a very active member of the Blacksburg art scene.  When she passed away in 2005, a memorial fund was established in her name. Since then, an award in her name has been presented at every New River Art Juried Biennial.  Her family has graciously let us use a few digital files of her artwork.

A look back....2015 Biennial hosted by Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley

An update on the results of the New River Art 2015 biennial: 39 different artists were selected to exhibit in this show, out of those who entered.  BRAA was well represented!

The winners were:
-Shawn Whiteside of Blacksburg, Nadine Allen Memorial Fund, $500
- Lois Stephens of Newport, Award of Excellence from Blacksburg Regional Arts Association, $200
- Roberta Sallee of Blacksburg, First Award of distinction, Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, $200
- Jonathan Murrill of Pulaski, Second Award of Distinction, Jacksonville Center for the Arts $200
- Felta Virginia Hall, Award of Merit, Greater Pulaski Alliance, $200
- Gina Louthian-Stanley of Roanoke, Award of Merit, The Southwest Times, $200

There will be a People's choice Award at the end of the show from The Artful Lawyer of Blacksburg for $100.

Over 50 people attended our reception and a good time was had by all despite the awful traffic tie up on I-81 which delayed so many guests!
