2017 Holiday Market

Another successful BRAA holiday market has ended. Over 20 BRAA members offered jewelry, pottery, fused glass, fiber works, Christmas pillows, original paintings, prints and more. We had more inventory than ever before and sales topped $3400, the highest total ever! Rejane Pratelli, jeweler, was the highest seller of the show. It was wonderful to feature new members and have them be very successful in their sales, especially oil painter Philip Ramsey whose Carole Lee donut paintings were all gobbled up the first week! Nearly every

member with work in the market had sales! We had some rough spots and have had lots of discussion about how to do it better next year! A huge thanks to member Carole Davis for being the driver of the event this year and, as always to the staff of the CAIO for allowing us to take over their space and assist us in more ways than I can count. A very big thanks to Susan Mattingly, executive director of the Lyric theater for her steadfast support and assistance and to Laureen Blakemore of Downtown Blacksburg, Inc., for the use of wonderful table clothes and the patient help as she gets swept up in the madness of setting up and breaking down this annual event. The market for 2019 is expected to run for two months instead of the traditional one! See more photos elsewhere on this webpage.
